as part of a series of exhibitions and events celebrating The Year of France in Brazil, french artist Sophie Calle showed her work Take Care of Yourself, named after the last line of the message her ex had left her, in which she asked dozens of women, plus a parrot and a hand puppet, to interpret the break-up e-mail. to promote the exhibition, advertising agency Santa Clara Nitro had about 15 women go into a train all at once, as if they’d never seen each other, read the email, cry to it, then get off and leave the letter behind. the actual piece was a video of the action and people’s reactions to the letter left there.
